Globe
The Earth with day and night as they are, the time and the date
In the spirit of Astronomy: the Earth from NASA’s Blue Marble imagery — Europe, Africa and the Middle East — with night where it’s night right now. The date and time on top.

What to expect
- The globe always shows the same side, centered on 25° E, 20° N; only the night moves.
- No clouds: it’s a composite of a clear Earth.
How it works
- The line between day and night is worked out on the screen from its clock: where the Sun is over the Earth right now.
- Earth imagery: NASA Blue Marble: Next Generation (NASA Earth Observatory), public domain.
- The night side needs firmware 1.19. On older firmware the whole Earth is lit.
What it uses
- Its words follow the screen’s language, English or Russian
